We are run by our members, for the members

We offer support and befriending, through shared experience of mental health issues, including treatment, hospitalisation, employment, benefits and welfare. Please note, this is not a counselling service. None of us are trained mental health practitioners. We reserve the right to refer you to other agencies if we feel they would be more appropriate for your needs.

What happens at group?
  • an informal chat over tea or coffee - there is a kitchen where you can make hot drinks
  • our Tuesday meet-ups are unstructured
  • there is no 'topic of the week' or 'circle time' where each person speaks in turn
  • we talk about a range of subjects, not just mental health
  • sometimes several conversations take place at the same time
  • you don't have to say anything about your mental health, unless you want to
  • if you would rather just sit and listen, and not participate, that's fine by us

There is no obligation to join straightaway - you are welcome to attend up to four times before becoming a member. After group, we go out for a coffee. Venues vary - the Apex, Boosh Bar, Edmundos, and Guat's Up. If you are unable to come to group, but would like to meet up afterwards, please text us on the day and we'll let you know where we are.

If you are experiencing a crisis:
Please contact your support worker. In case of emergency, call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
